
Honourable Minister Professor Paul Mavima

Honourable Professor Paul Mavima is a distinguished scholar, veteran politician and Cabinet Minister who is currently serving as the Minister of Skills Audit and Development.
Prior to this appointment, he had equally served in Government and civil society in different capacities.
He was the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare from November 2019 to September, 2023.
He was the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education from December 2017 to November 2019.
In September, 2013 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, the position he served up to December 2017.
Honourable Professor Paul Mavima is the National Assembly Member for Gokwe Sengwa Constituency since July 2013.
In Civil Society, he served as the Chairperson for African Regional Labour Administration Centre (ARLAC) and Zimbabwe Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF) from November 2019 to September 2023.
He was the Chairperson of the 6th Africa Regional Forum from February, 2020 to February, 2021.
Honourable Professor Paul Mavima holds a Bachelor of Science in Politics and Administration and a Master of Public Administration from University of Zimbabwe (UZ).
He obtained a PhD in Public Administration and Policy from Florida State University, USA and he became an Associate Professor of Public Administration and Policy at Grand Valley State University in 2007.
