This Friday, the Minister of Skills Audit and Development, Professor Paul Mavima<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, attended a digitals skills training event he organized in partnership with the Vision 2030 Movement<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> , in collaboration with NetOne<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The training, held at the National University of Science and Technology<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, attracted participants from NUST, Lupane State University<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> and other organizations in Bulawayo. The trainers were from NUST.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The workshop emphasized the critical need for digital skills in Zimbabwe across various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare and education.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Professor Mavima highlighted Zimbabwe’s lag in digital infrastructure compared to countries like Rwanda and Nigeria, despite having a well-educated population.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He pointed out that his Ministry is working together with the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Zimbabwe<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> to establish a Techno Hub in Harare to spearhead digital skills development. The Hub, modeled after successful open schools in Silicon Valley, will provide 24\/7 training in software development, coding and entrepreneurship, among other digital skills.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
